Rao Fu is a highly accomplished painter, born in Beijing, who has been living in Dresden, Germany for the past 21 years. He has had numerous international solo and group exhibitions in Asia, Europe and the United States. Fu has also participated in renowned art fairs such as Art Basel in Hong Kong, Art Taipei, Art021 Shanghai, and Asia Now, among others.

“Flaming Images” compiles 42 pieces from his solo exhibition of the same name, curated by German curator Christoph Tannert, along with 81 carefully selected paintings created by Rao FU since 2020. In total, the book features 123 exceptional images of Rao FU’s works, covering his major pieces since the solo exhibition “Infinitrace” at Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts in 2019. Additionally, the publication includes an essay by curator Tannert titled ’Images of Flaming Passion,‘ an article by chief editor Andre Lee titled “Janus: The Perpetual Exploration in Rao FU’s Painting,” the artist’s statement, and a complete record of his exhibition experiences. The book is a hardcover edition measuring 28.5×24.5 cm, spanning 224 pages, and is priced at NTD 2,000.

50 Paintings at Milwaukee Art Museum 

‘50 Paintings’ is on view at the Milwaukee Art Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin through June 23, 2024. It features works created within the last five years by 50 international artists, highlighting the artistic trends in practice today. Co-curated by Margaret Andera and Michelle Grabner, ‘50 Paintings’ invites visitors to formulate their own assessments of trends in contemporary painting.
